Hoping for some help here. I have been using Mobil 1 V-Twin 20-50 Synthetic, andI love it, but I went to get some today and my usual supply was out. So, I decided that it must be a sign from above that I should try Amsoil. It just so happens that just up the street is a little indy shop that sells Amsoil so I head there. WOW! After tax I paid $9.50 a quart. I know it's good stuff but Damn! anyway, looking for some better prices for future oil changes, anyone got any suggestions as to the best place to purchase this liquid gold online?
Is Amsoil really better? Is it worth the money? What are the advantages? We are talkig motor oil afterall and there is some excellent product out there. So I wonder if it's really any better.
From: i live outside Omaha Ne on the Iowa side in the Loes hills, some great places to ride
RE: Amsoil prices
Well Redhawk, here is what happened to me
i went to change my oil myself and wanted to use Amsoil.
i looked for a local dealer -- i just didn't want to buy on line.
found the guy doing bussiness in his local garage.
he offered me the discount and all i had to do was sign up for 6 months at 10.00
i thought it was comparable at the prefered customer price to Mobil 1
i was using Syn 3 and i am now getting about 2 MPG better milage from 38.5 to 40.5 and have less lifter rattle , i don't have the trans noise in 5th so no change there (have 6 spd)
oh and my wife loves the comfort stitch , but i like the sundowner better
hope this helps
Thanx Pat, I am glad she likes it. What don't you like about it? Maybe you need to talk to Mean city cycles and have it worked on. They are supposed to do great work.
Thats a good price Bryan, is the preferred cust. $20 a year or is it a one time deal?
Also if you go to the Amsoil web site, for $20. u can be a preferred cust. & get it at dealers cost.
I have to admit those people have the best money making set up going. They have one of the higher priced products of it's kind. They cut out most of the middlemen, yet maintaint the premium price. Then, they will sell it to you "direct" if you pay their club dues.
