My 2006 St Glide has a legend air ride installed on the rear. No matter how much air and how high the rear suspension is it bottoms out very easy and makes a bang noise. I hate it! Is there a better rear air shock I can install that has more travel? Seems I only have about an inch of travel or way to soft of a suspension. Also is these a decent rear adjustable non air ride shock that gives a good ride with some ride height ajustment that won’t brake the bank?
Thanks in advance for the info.
I have the same question.. my 08 SG came with drag specialties adjustable progressive shocks and no matter how I adjust them I get that same tailbone breaking bang when I hit a bump.. not sure if the shocks are just blown out or what..
Something is off here. I would suggest to both of you to fill your shocks up to say 50lbs and then check them every 10 min. for an hour. If my suspicions are right you will find them leaking down fairly quickly. I personally had a similar problem and have gone the spring route instead of air.
I have already done that. In fact I left town for a week and came back and check and had the exact same pressure as when I left and also measured height when I returned and had the exact same height.

WOW, I would have guessed that was it. Maybe their just bad shocks. They should really have more than a couple of inches of travel. I guess if you want to stay with air there should be an assortment of shocks you could use with that system.
As you know, most of the well known better shocks are on the pricey side. I chose to go with Pro-Action Street Series, and I'm totally satisfied. However, and I'm not sure if it will break your bank or not, but I think that you'd get the most bang for your buck with the Bitubo Twin Adjustable shocks from DK Customs. http://www.dkcustomproducts.com/twin...dk-bt-shks.htm
