Default Road king Fairing review "Stealth vs Reckless"

Hello, This is to help out the next guy a little bit. When ordering parts over the internet like eBay I personally find it frustrating because the pics don't really convince me how good it would look on the bike and I hate to order a part and then have to pay a sick return shipping fee. I own a 2007 Road King classic. I've been shopping around for a good deal on a front fairing with the batwing windshield. There's a ton of choices from as cheap as 150 bucks all the way up to almost 2,000 dollars. But remember, you get what you pay for... I settled on two choices after looking at a few You tube video reviews. The Stealth XL and the Reckless. Both were reasonably priced around 300 dollars so I ordered both and hopefully can sell the one I don't want locally for what I paid for it. Having the two in front of me helped me make my decision otherwise I would've been wondering and waiting for weeks. Here's my review. Both are made rather well. Both have a clean black gel coat finish. Very little prep if any would be needed for painting. Both are easy to install and fit nicely on the bike. The only modification might be is to adjust or relocate your spotlights. For me, I have my turn signals on top of my spots so the fairing fits perfect without any modifications. Both fairings come with basically the same brackets and bolts. The two are almost neck and neck but I have to say, the Reckless fairing looks to be put together a little nicer meaning they use a nice seal that keeps the inner and outer fairings together. The Stealth could use a better gasket but is this really a big deal?, No.. Even though the Reckless seemed just a bit better made than the Stealth, I opted for the Stealth XL for one reason. It's a touch (about 1-2 inches) larger than the Reckless and I like the lines on the front of the fairing where it flairs out. So with this said, Bottom line is,, Both Stealth and Reckless make a nice product. Both are very similar in how they are made. You can't go wrong with either. I was surprised also at how light it is. I was thinking if its fiberglass, it will be heavy. Not the case. I'm looking forward to getting the fairing painted and hooking up some nice speakers. (my fairing has four open holes for 5" speakers and a precut opening for a radio.... Pics to follow...

Curious how the stealth had turned out. Looking at these two options now for my 2009. Does it wobble? Wind protection?

Default Fairing update

Enclosed are some pics of my new fairing made by Stealth. It came out great and bolted on with ease. Exterior color is a matching white gold pearl like the rest of the bike with the inner side painted colbalt blue to also match the Harley colors. I opted for kicker 5" speakers with quick disconnect wiring that leads to my saddle bag that holds the amp. I don't use a radio but instead use my blue tooth phone and use an app like pandora. Instead of the radio and installed a weatherproof radio cover and underneath it lies an led toggle switch panel with a usb port as well. I installed a chrome led lighted windshield trim that functions with turn signal indicators for some extra safety. Very pleased with my purchase of the Stealth XL fairing.

I shopped around for a batwing fairing for my Freewheeler and ended up getting a Reckless Vent type fairing which is the same for a Road King because is looks more like a factory batwing fairing. Well pleased with quality, fit and wind protection.Their Vent type fairing has the shape of a Factory Rushmore vented fairing but without the vent.
