Stock one on my 2018 Street Glide is great; I'm 6' 3". I rode a Dyna with no shield for 9 years...so, maybe I just need a little wind on my face.

Checked them out. They have a very limited selection for touring shields. For instance for the shield height I need the only tint they have is the darkest. I want clear or the lightest tint. I even called them and thats all they offer.

avoid dark tint if you're ever riding at dusk or at night. I have a LRS Recurve Light Tint squaretop- works great for buffeting. Have read good on Freedom but haven't tried one.

Default WindVest

I'm trying a WindVest 6" clear windshield on my 2001 Ultra Classic. Just rode into work this morning and it works great. Being 5' 7" I can look over it. According to the chart on WindVest they recommend a 4" shield for my height. I wanted it taller since my wife will be with on most long distant trips. Passenger seat puts her up taller than me. From what I could find online this type of windshield would fit with the windshield bags I have.

Yeah, sorry about that. I only mentioned them because another member praised their shields. Before that, I had never seen them mentioned in other shield threads even though their website says they've been in existence since 1937. I thought I might try them the next time I need a shield for my '14 Limited.

Hey, no biggie. I put one of their Switchblade 2-up shields on my old Wide Glide and it was fantastic. Now with this Ultra its a different beast. But I appreciate the suggestion.

You can’t go wrong with Freedom Shields. Very high quality. Customer service is great. John, the owner, will personally hep you to select the right one. Quick shipping as well. I like t(e look of my 7” wind splitter around town, but for any kind of distance I put the Freedom Shield on. Perfect.

LRS announced new ownership back in February. Prices went up, QC went down.
Their explanation.....it must have shrunk.

I put a 7” wind splitter on mine and it looks good and performs well for a short time I will be picking up a taller one for longer trips.
