Default Fairing bracket

So i have the fairing off to pre-wire for the stereo and amp arriving this week. Upon doing that I see that the bracket connecting to the top of the inner fairing is broken. Clearly i'm sure there is a structural integrity issue but how concerned should i be?

Can i drill a hole in the bracket and attach an L shapped bracket to reattach to the fairing?

pretty common issue. You can use L brackets to fix it or you can buy new supports. HD sells an updated one , alloy art is another choice

There are some various options in this thread I started when I did the brackets on my old Electra Glide.

Did mine last week. Just bolted L brackets to it. Works perfect.

I am thinking that is what I am going to do. I already have the fairing off in preparation for the stereo coming tomorrow so I don't want to wait to buy something and ship it so I think I will hit up the ole Home Depot on my lunch today and get a bracket and some bolts and just do it myself. Hell can even get fancy and spray paint the l bracket black.

I used these on my 99 Ultra when I noticed they where broken. Simple to install and didn't have any issues of one breaking again after.

No offense, but I'm not paying $37 for something that is basically the same as using a $2 L bracket!

I added the L-shape bracket when my bike was a few months old rather have them break down the road, I shape them and painted them be good for 100,000 miles.
