I have a 07 Road King, fully tuned . Recently I put on fishtail slip ons and it doesn't run as smoothly. Have some throttle hesitation here and there. Not terrible.
If I put back on the original slip ons, will it go back to normal or did I screw things up ? Main reason I put on the other ones was to just get the original ones ceramic coated. Anyways, any input appreciated . Thanks .
Likely a lot less back pressure from the fishtails. You were Likely running too lean with them on. A tuner would richen the mixture up.
Bingo, nailed it right on the head. Your 02 sensors are used to reading a certain amount of back pressure through the pipes. When you changed to the fishtails it changed the amount of pressure. So the ecu was a bit confused.
If you want to leave them on then you can re-adjust your tuner for them. If you don't have a tuner than I would suggest going back to stock. Your ECU is not going to change just because you swapped pipes. So now worries on that end of it.

Ahhh gotcha. Yeah it was tuned when I had the motor done from a 96 to 107 so not sure what type of tuner he used.
