Does anyone know of a company in or near Northern VA that does custom work on seats? I have a 2019 CVO Street Glide and love the look of the seat, I even have the matching pad on my chopped tour pack. However, It is just as uncomfortable as every other HD stock seat.
I would like to take it in have something done to it to make it much more comfortable. I have a trip to Tail of The Dragon coming up and it is going to be a long ride there and back. I would have to have a bruised tailbone getting there or coming home.
I have a CVO seat on my ride, and at first, I wasnt real thrilled with the purchase, but with some time on it to break in, and a foot ware change, it is actually a pretty comfortable seat.
What has has helped me the most is a boot change. I was wearing harness boots with a heal. Given the seat sits you pretty low, the heals resting on the boards tilted me in a way that my tail and sit bones took the brunt of my weight.
Try running with some tennis shoes (I found this out on a jont with a pair of Chuck Taylors on) and see if that helps. I ended up buying a new pair of Merrell tactical MOAB waterproof boots, and they put me in the right position My thighs get more weight and it takes the pressure off my tail and sit bones.

I just sent them an email asking if they can work their magic on mine. It appears as though they offer a same day service for a $100 fee.I will update everyone when they get back to me.
They were very quick and detailed in their response. Allen from Mean City Cycles responded and basically said that there is nothing that can be done. Please see his exact response below.
Unfortunately our modifications do not work well on the CVO seats so we do not work on them. The materials used to make these seats and our modifications just do not work well together. I wish I had better news for you but we do not want to mislead anyone into thinking we can help just to make a buck and have a un-happy customer.
I then sent a follow up email and asked if he knew of anyone that specialized in working on CVO seats and this is what he said.
I bought the seats used on the CVO street glides a few years ago to try and figure out what we can do to modify them for better comfort and threw everything we had at them and nothing worked. I am not the smartest person in the world but am pretty good working on motorcycle seats and I can't say that someone hasn't figured out how to make them better but I do not see how they can. All of the guys I know that work on seats like I do don't work on them either because they aren't good seats to modify. I wish I had better news man.
