Thanks guys

I went back and had a look, and you're right: it's fairly obvious for CVO models, and if you look a little harder, it's there for the Touring models as well. Interestingly, Victory chose not to offer ABS for its Vision street & touring models - in press releases, they claim that it's not a deal breaker for most people in this segment. That's probably true for most, but I had a panic stop this year when some fool tried doing a 3-point turn across double yellow lines on a blind corner. I left two very nice black marks down the road and was lucky not to lose it. Oh yeah, I also had my 9-year-old daughter on the back.

I like ABS...

I have ABS on my (PD owned) 2006 FLHTP. They work great! The unit is made by Nissin, a Honda company. The ABS unit takes up alot of storage on the right saddlebag. Not sure if its the same setup on the '08 civilian bikes, but I understand that the calipers are Brembo. Brembo makes great stuff. I might buy a new bike in '08. Hope I cleared up some thoughts or confused you beyond repair. ZOOK

New system is a totally different system and maker from those previous years of PD bikes, all the hardware is tucked under the right side cover.

gunrunner is correct; the '08 ABS system is not the same as on the police models. It does not use the "exciter" ring that the police models have on the brake rotor nor does it take up space for the saddlebag as on the police models.

Also, it is an option that must be ordered with the bike; it is not an accessory that can be added to the bike after it is built.

The above is info from my dealer's service manager.

Fishafly, Sorry, I work nights. Pull up the site and click where it says "Click here for this weeks Inside Powersports". They have a couple other videos to the right of it.
