Ive come the realization that Im not getting any younger, I enjoy riding and tinkering on my 84 fx but its just become too uncomfortable to ride any distance at all, I pondered selling it but the shovel market is crap now days especially for semi custom bikes, I do have the opportunity to make a trade for a 2007 ultra classic with 27k on the odometer, super clean bike with the burgundy and cream color scheme, second owner is an older guy who is getting where he is afraid he cant handle the bike anymore, Im not a fan of all the problems Ive heard about with the twin cams but Ive never owned one either, what issues am I looking for on the 2007 model and is this model more reliable than previous models, seeking experience and opinions welcomed, photo is actual bike Im considering, the tour pak and lower fairings are included but not currently installed.
I bought my 2007 EGC June 2016 with 30k miles, and now I have 49k. No major problems so far. Had to replace the speeed sensor and the headlight buld last year.

Reason: to many numbers in the year
I had 2007 UC sold it after 103K miles on it and it was still running strong never used a drop of oil. I upgraded to Stage II 103 made it very strong bike had few compesator failures and primary bearings issues but never left me stranded,
Inner faring brackets are known to break but they can be upgraded with no big deal, but it can cause something to break in the factory radio causing it to cut out when riding, $250 to have the radio repaired threw Iron Cross Audio.
Personally I like these bikes, I think the way they are painted makes them better looking than my 2011 FLHTK. This one has a painted inner and true duals witch is always a plus in my book. You would be far more comfortable on this than you '84. Depending on the deal, I would seriously consider this bike.
