Looking for info on a good Tank Bag for a touring bike. I would prefer a smaller size, possibly magnetic, and a clear map pocket on top. It just needs to be large enough to carry a point and shoot camera, a snack, wallet and maybe a few other small items.
I'm sorry..... I have a tank bag and no clue who it is. Bought it about 10 year ago for my Sportster. Moved it to the Street Glide when i got that. It has 3 large diameter magnets on each side that hold it very securely on the tank. I have a couple of micro fiber cloths sewn together to go between the tank and the bag. Large compartment.... probably around 9 x 12 or so. The clear top holds map or directions well. The storage compartment is large enough to hold a hog atlas and a few things. I had been looking at these at local bike shops to see what i could find. The Honda dealer in the next town over had this... I liked it and the price was ok (no memories but maybe around $50) I went to pay for this and the guy at the parts counter asked if i was a Honda customer. I started to say "Uh, no sorry...Harley ...." and he cut me off and said I thought you were. You get the preferred customer 10% discount. Sweet!
Regardless, this is a little on the large side but fist the tank well. I have had zero issues with it and never had it slide around. I only use it for trips....
just ran out and checked.... It is called Rapid Transit and measures about 12" w x 14" long. Do a search....enjoy the challenge!!
Thanks for the tips. I think the Nelson Rigg is on the top of my list, it's small 5 litre size sounds like what I want. Most tank bags start at 15-20 litres which is much larger than I want on the tank in front of me.
