I run a Danny Gray Long Haul 2 Up XL. Leather seat with Air Hawk bladder & pump in both rider & passenger seats. My wife thinks it's more comfortable than the stock seat on my '14 FLHTK. Definitely more comfortable for me & the built-in AirHawk allows changing pressure points on the go for long rides. I purchased my seat after the wife & I tried out the seat on my bike during the 2014 Sturgis Rally, so my purchase was not done blindly. And it wasn't cheap. It's also available with a backrest.

Danny Gray told me he likes & uses an IST saddle on his own bike. Not sure which specific model, but those saddles are available in several different configurations, with & w/o Air Hawk options. And they're less money than the Long Haul saddles.

I've have 5 friends that have purchased the Long Haul saddles after riding mine. All except one are still riding them. That one had his wife complain that it wasn't as comfortable as the stock saddle. He got tired of switching seats every time he went 2 up vs 1 up. His solution was Mean City. They fixed him up & he's extremely happy with the results. So's his wife.

As others have said, the MCC solution is probably the cheapest & best option to get a seat that both of you will be happy with.

Finding a good seat is quite a quest. Tried the dealers demo seats. Settled on the zeppelin being the most comfortable. It is big but function and comfort leave looks in the dust for me. Found a little used 5 yr old manual pump up Zep seat, it's a little smaller than the new Zep and if it suits it's only a few hundred bucks vs. the $1,100 for a brand new one. If I buy it hopefully I won't have to pump it up every 10 min.

I rode about 750 miles last Friday. It took a little longer than it should have almost 15 hours. The stock seat (2014 Limited) was painful all day long. Saturday I went to Thunderbird HD and they let me take a test ride on the hammock touring seat. It has fabric 2 inches above the seat pan and better foam. So my tail bone never sat against the seat pan. I sat an inch taller and a little bit forward. I came home on Monday and had no pain. The only reason I had to shift my feet was because my knees were getting sore. It is supposed to have something for the passenger but my wife said it felt the same even though it is two inches narrower than stock.

I highly recommend going to the dealership and taking one for a test ride.

The ride home had one oilfield road that was under construction and bumper to bumper trucks and semi trucks. it was like driving a dirt road for 50 mile. For reference I am 5'9" and currently 260lbs and only have about 1200 miles on the seat. Good luck with your search.

Keeping the bride happy is part of the gig. I thought you said the stock seat she liked and it set your *** on fire? I didn't see where you tried a sheep skin on the stock seat. Maybe I missed that? I swear by mine. I can ride forever using mine. Helps keep you cool and will cover the seat for both rider and passenger. Just a suggestion. Maybe you know someone with one you can try for a ride or 2? Good luck.

I would buy the Mustang (by the way that is the seat I use) and keep trading wives till you find one that fits the bike. Seems to me that would be a lot easier.

The seat search can be frustrating and expensive. My last was a Corbin dual tour. Amazes me that a seat so hard can be so comfortable for both of us. But think of a saddle as like on a horse and it makes sense. Best of luck!!

Put your stock seat on the bike and buy her a bike to ride with you.

it’s hard enough finding a seat that works for you, now you have to find one seat that works for two different people??!!!??

Thanks to to everyone for your input. Seems as though this a re-occurring theme.

Have you looked at a hammock Harley seat?
No, I’ll have to try that out also.

Corbin and LePera are on my mind as well.

Sounds like the consensus so far.

. Thanks, I’ve never heard of them. I’ll check them out.

That’s a really expensive suggestion... I happen to be partial to the one I have. She’s put up with my **** for twenty years, and I don’t know what I’d do without her.

LoL, another really expensive option... I’ve already tried that.

I’ll have to look for one. I’ve not seen any that I can think of, but i wasn’t specifically looking for one.
