This is my solo seat, with a backrest I can ride all day in it.
Is that a Corbin? I kinda like a 2 up seat on my SGS, had a 16 Chieftain with the solo seat, had the skirts on the side that came down, a grab rail around the back of the seat, plus the fender rack, now that looked good with a solo seat, plus with the mono Fox air shock in the rear it rode swell, unlike the way a Harley does.
I know you're talking seats to address the problem but I just installed air ride by JNR. I think it rides better than the progressive 444's I took off. For me it's a comfortable ride at the same height as 12" shocks, maybe 12.5" for a bumpy road. I'm 5'7 with a 30" inseam an with the 12" height I can back it up fine but now I can dump the air an really push it back if needed. If you tear up the twisties air ride might not work, I read it gets wheel hop when pushed in corners but it's fine for speeds I'm comfortable with.

yeah it is a corbin classic solo. you def feel the bumps on these hard seats more then the big ole cushion seats. for some reason I read you wanted a solo seat. sorry, I do have a pillion for it but the wife doesn't like it.

Something else to consider is the road zeppelin seat. Not the electric one (it is large and lifts you up an inch or more and is quite wide) but the non electric manual pump one. The manual pump one is much smaller and thinner and much narrower (narrow helps with leg reach)
. It is Harley Davidson Road Zeppelin Touring seat part# 52000152.
However, it no longer seems to be in the North American Harley catalogue but I saw it in the Harley Europe site. There should be some of these kicking around in the second hand for sale sites somewhere at reasonable price. You can pump them up or release the air as you please. More comfortable than the stock seat and lower even with a comfortable amount of air in. You can vary the pressure to suit or release all the air if you really need to get thoroughly flat footed. Here is another picture:
To the OP- it appears you like to go long distances in a day. For that application, I would recommend looking into Russel Day Long (day-long.com). They are a custom seat built for the long haul. You put in your physical dimensions and send pictures of your riding stance and they build a custom seat on you stock seat pan. Lots of iron butt guys use their seats. I had one on my Kawasaki and it is/was awesome. I will need a new one for HD and am seriously thinking of going that route again.
Thanks, will look into them and give them a call for more exact info. Ha! just looked at the web site, and they sure are some big seats, looked at a side profile and looks like I would need a ladder to get on bike and a pair of Kiss boots when stopping, already wear logging boots and they might too short to wear with them seats, but will give them a call anyway.

Ok, called Russell seats and told me I would be wasting my money, their seats would raise me up too much, Mean City Seats told me that they only work on 1 Le Pera seat and the Maverick is not the one, they don't work on Danny Grey seats either or the Harley Low Down seat, they asked me about doing the stock seat which I told them they already did one for me and was not happy with the results and then no further comment from them, have someone with a Mustang low down seat on his and when we get together will try his on my bike.
, meanwhile the Harley Low Down seat is back on, at least I know how that is without wasting any more money, worse comes to worse, I will just have to take a break once in awhile in the travels, might be for the better. Thanks all.
Following as I have the same issue on my 19 RGS. I currently have the stock seat which sits me a little too far back & the HD reach seat which sits me too far forward. I cannot flat foot with either seat. It is not a big deal to me riding solo but it is a big deal when the wife is on the back.
My plan is to go with the progressive 944s in the rear and the progressive 2' drop in the front. I think that should cure the flat footing problem BUT I'd still like to find a seat that places me about 1/2 way between the stock seat and the reach seat.
I know there are a lot of options out there but 1 problem I have with some of them is over $500 with no returns for a seat that you don't know for sure addresses the problem.
It's tough and just know.... You're not alone bud.
