Default 99 UC shock replacement

What year stock shocks will fit a 99 ultra classic? The ride is fine the stock ones are just starting to loose air. Want to find a set of take offs but unsure of what years will fit.

I know that my 08 had stock shocks with -97 pn numbers so at least through 08. You could check a parts fiche to verify.

I went with the DIY air ride and am happier than with the stock shocks. There are a lot of company's out there that have kits to do it at a reasonable price.

I saw that at least until 08 are the same, but we all know how HD likes to say items only fit certain years so I wanted to see if anyone knew for sure or not. I can get a set 14 take offs for real cheap if they will work

if the -14s are air shocks, they'll work fine. if they are the premium hand adjustable, then your swingarm isn't beefy enough to handle the 2 different forces being applied.

the second part of the equation is, what bike are the takeoffs from? if they are from the 'sporty' bikes (street glide, road glide custom, etc) then they'll be 12'' shocks, whereas from the ultras, limiteds, etc. they'll be 13''. with the exception of the ultra low, it also has 12'' shocks.

The take offs are from a 14 limited so they are the 13" shocks. That part I was I aware of but thank you for clarifying. I will give them a shot. Thanks again for the help
