I'm looking to save a few dollars and do my own 5K service. I have looked at what needs to be done and found I can do all except the adjust primary chain. My Q is my bike, 07 ultra has the chain tensioner. Is there any adjustment even needed. or do i just check for wear. Should there even be any wear at 5k miles..

Thanks in advanced.
Your 07 has the auto tensioner from the factory, no need to doanything at the 5k service.
Look at your or any 07 twin cam Harley motorcycle; the primary chain is sealed so you cannot adjust it.You might want to purchase a service manual and maybe, "Fix My Hog" dvd.

Get the service manual. Assuming you brought it in for the 1k service, make a sheet with a checklist for all the 5k items like the sheet the dealer used for the 1k. Record any measurements or adjustments performed and any other actions taken.
Save your receipts for oil and filter and staple it to this.
