Default Proof please?

Several people on this board have stated as fact that a 180 tire can be mounted on a Road King with no suspension or chasis changes. My HD dealer says now way no how. Can anyone offer any proof that this can and has been done for SURE?

an MU85 (143mm) will fit but you have to trim the thin flexible belt guard a little. my opinion is a 180 won't fit BUT I try it to be sure, just a little labor expended then you'll be sure if you can find a dealer that will let you try the tire. OR find a slick one to try for fit.

Why dont you go to the dealer and get them to pull out a 180 tire and measure the with of the tire and then measure inside of your swing arm and then take in consideration of your belt. After you figure you cant do it,let us know what your thoughts are.
