There are good low mileage bikes that are years old out there. I always go for lowest mileage unmolested bike i can get for the dollar. I want to wear it out myself and add what i need to do it.
As far as mileage, there are quite a few 100,000 mile bikes that run and run and run.

I had a 2009 that iI old last June with 90,000 miles. The stock motor was fine for what it was, but I found the 96" motor to be under powered. I did the stage one DL, SE255 cams, a Power Commander V, tune... The power was better, but my mileage really suffered. What I'm getting to is that you can buy a newer bike, with at least the 103, for not a lot more and have similar or better rideability with no modifications. If you can get into a Rushmore bike with the water cooled heads, even better. Id put the $3k of upgrade money into a newer bike.

The more research I do the more I agree with your line of thinking. Thanks for the input.
Well to actually answer your original question.... seat, bars, highway pegs and windshield.
To join the conversation, forget the gear drive crap and get yourself a 14+ twinkie and leave it as stock as you can.
Thanks. The more i read the more i see that a lot of problems are due to the backyard mechanic "fixing" things. I will for sure invest in some comfort items
One, if you have good credit you can finance anything. Two gear driven cams are not the great idea some try to make you thing they are. Someone has been feeding you a lot of bad information. 2010 is now a 10 year old bike you should get a really low price on it.
And speaking of really low prices, the time to buy a bike is in the fall or winter. If you wait until spring prices will be going up as people think about riding.
I've gotten incredible deals buying a bike just after Christmas.
