Default Cam Question

I've read tons of topics on cams and various opinions but I am trying to decide on what cam without doing any other engine work. I have a 2011 Street Glide 103 Power Pack. It has an Arlen Ness Big Sucker, 4" Rineharts, stock head pipe with cat removed, and PCV.

I do lot of back road riding with some highway, 90 percent solo.

I'm torn between the Andrews 57H, Woods 555, or Wood 222.

Fuel Moto is having a Labor Day sale so I'm planning on purchasing this weekend. Would like some input prior to purchasing. Tried calling them yesterday afternoon and they were closed.

I put 222s in a friend's 2016 road glide. He has a pro pipe, se heavy breather and got a power vision from fuel moto. He loves it and he says the bike runs great. They other 2 cams You picked could use a little compression bump to really work to their full potential. On the one hand the 222s are a great bolt in while the 57h will work ok now,it leaves some room to make other changes down the road...because once you start the quest for more power it's hard not to want just a little more. Take a look at Andrews 48h and 5-6, cycle rama 570-2, s&S Mr 103...those are all bolt in cams. Sorry if I made your head spin even more.

If you are pushing any where near 10.5:1 compression Look at the Screamin Eagle 259e cams. It doesn't cost anything to look.

My 2013 FLHTK Limited has your same setup other than a Power Vision. I went the Andrews 57 and PV from Fuel Moto with starter tune and I'm happy
with the way it turned out. But to do it over with my heavy sled and a none too small lady on the back at times, I'd go Andrews 48 with real torque
coming on 300 rpm sooner.

I like my woods 222, never ridden the others so not objective at all. I don't often ride in the upper rpm range so I wanted something that came on as early as possible, didn't want to mess with lifters etc. I'm happy, really woke up the engine and I can still use lower grade gas in a pinch. one of these days I see about a dyno tune but it feels good now.

started w/ stock 2012 ultra 103. now woods 222, FM stage 1 AC, PV map from fuel moto, FM 2:1 e series exhaust, b/c I still wanna hear my tunes

Between those choices, I would go with the Woods 222.... IMHO, it is the only one of the 3 that will perform its best without other improvements. The W555 & A57H will work in the 103, but to really hit their best performance they could each use a little more work... be it heads and/or compression.

If I was going to do just a bolt in cam and tune for my 103".... I'd go with the CR 570-2 or the Andrews 48.....

Good luck with your decision....

Andrews 48 or do the 57s with a 4 degree advance kit. Performance like 48 but runs out longer.

When you decide to up compression take out the advance and you still have 57s. Best of both worlds

Cyclerama 575 would be best option. 35 IVC but...since it was designed with a slow initial valve opening to create more cylinder fill it doesn’t require the compression people think it needs based on typical calculators. That’s the function of design not often mentioned except that cams launch article. Once I did a 103 stage 2 stock 9.6 compression w this cam and made 113T 100hp dandd pipe. Torque real early too. Carrying out strong all the way. Added head work year later and 110 kit, went off over 130T, 124T at 3k rpm.
