I don’t Ride Like a grandpa but I don’t abuse it either. It’s well maintained and because the previous owner barely put any miles on it I only have 48,000 on a 10 year old bike. I would say at least 4 years and 50,000 before crate or rebuild.

MAN! That video never gets old.

@23Seven My cousin rides a stock '19 Limited CVO, my buddy rides an '06 Street Glide with upgraded engine, front and rear shocks, I ride a '15 street bob, for the most part stock except a stage 1 and upgraded rear shocks and we all ride hard in the twisties and are able to keep up with the BMW's. He'll also do it 2up. I don't know much about bikes, and what I do, I've learned through this forum, other forums and friends who are long time motorcycle owners. I'm currently building a Road Glide to be a "performance bagger" I don't know much about RK, but I'd bet you could make your bike handle way better than it does now, especially in the twisties, which are a personal favorite of mine...hence the "performance bagger" build. haha I've not been riding very long compared to a lot of guys I know or on here, but I do know one thing. I love the twisties...long sweepers, tight hair pin turns... all of them and I want a bike (Harley) that can handle good in them. I'm like you, I want to be on a Harley and be able to keep up with those guys and if that means upgrading forks, suspension, engine, so be it. I say, build your RK the way you envision. I know I am. Like the other guy said, go get some inspiration from the "performance bagger" thread. Also, if you're on Instagram, go check out "Proper Baggers" There's plenty of sick Road Kings on there. Look forward to seeing what you do to it.

Side note, I have another buddy who's had a RK (S&S 124 I think) for as long as I've known him and he rides the hell out of that bike.

Thanks man... Have fun with your build as well!

After upgrading to Progressive 944’s and adding the rear True Trak I can push so much harder on sweepers and put the floorboards down on the tight turns. Kinda got me thinking more about handling than power and my bike has plenty of umph since adding cams to my Stage 1 96. So until my suspension can handle all my 96 has to offer I’ll keep beefing it up.

I’m thinking of Monotubes and a Front True Trak next... I might run that for a while before considering going inverted and dropping more coin on rear ohlins.

I’m in no hurry I can ride the hell out of it already....
