I have the BAL-1 and I'm very pleased with it. I run the tail light on medium setting to keep people from thinking that my brake light is on. I have the brake light set for two series of flashes then solid.
I think that the BAL is a great safety feature. It will get the attention of people behind you.

Got one on my 2010 Ultra. You can tell a difference the way folks pull up behind you. They stay back....way back.

I've purchased three BAL-1 tail lights over the years, for my bikes.... paid retail for them, worth the money...

Just curious why you would do that when it can be programmed for so many different settings?

I was wondering the same thing when I read his post. I have been considering a BAL for my Road King and reading through the specs I saw the different modes.

Has anyone compared the BAL-2 with the BAL-3? The difference being 12LED's in the -2 and 4 in the -3. The LED's are different but the lay down smoke is only available in the -3.

It is set to strobe then lock on i feather it to trigger the strobe. There are some oblivious drivers around here.

2 weeks ago the wife and i rode into town for breakfast. 3 times we were damn near killed by a cage.
