Drive the rear wheels of the truck up on 2x6's, this will lift the rear of the truck thus lowering back of trailer, 2 boards should be enough to help you.

Sounds like a simple enough solution. Much easier than dragging my huge ramp across the country.

I just use a hitch that has a slightly raised tongue & ball, then the front of the trailer is up slightly, thereby lessening the break angle of the ramp & trailer bed.

I've also used the likes of a 2x4 under the ramp where it hit the pavement. Cheap, light and effective.

Just carry a couple good jack stands......

I use a utility trailer for the rare times I tow one of my bikes. It's a 5x10 with a short, metal mesh ramp. I put a jack stand (or two) under the rear of the trailer, to catch at the frame. I then disconnect the trailer from the tow vehicle and jack up the front of the trailer, until the rear frame is solidly resting on the jack stands. I can then easily load or unload the bike, with a much reduced ramp angle...

The keys are to make sure the trailer is loaded with at least a slight weight bias to the front of the trailer, and that the trailer jack can handle the weight.
