Default shields for new fairing vs old

I orderd a LRS shield a few weeks back and when it came it didn't fit my bike, the two side holes on the new shield were higher than the ones on the orginal and a klock werks I had. I contacted LRS and there was some odd back and forth but eventually they sent me a new shield. Its exactly the same as the first one, i didn't bother unwrapping it. I've sent them another note but I am guessing they're sending me a shiled for a new bike despite me having a 03. Has anyone seen a shield for both the old style fairing and new side by side and know how the hole alignment differs?

Haven’t seen a side by side, but shields for up to 13 won’t fit the 14 and up and vice versa.

I can't say for certain as mine is a 13 but I have had a couple LRS and cut them down b4 and as long as holes are in same vertical plane as the old ones, then the issue is the length to lower edge as if too long it will hit a protrusion on inner fairing. Im wondering if there could be something also like wiring that has shifted and maybe hitting. Wild guesses

the center point of the holes is higher so cutting it wouldn't work

The holes or slots look pretty close to me. Have you tried a little force to get it to fit?

Can you line up the top edge of holes and see if matches or close to be same...my guess is they will and bottom edge may only be less than half inch lower on lrs. Be sure that you have outer and inner fairing well spread apart or able to spread somewhat with screws completely removed. Dont rely on slots to allow sliding in

Yes, and it scratched the first one they sent me. Basically if I force it down far enough for the side holes to fit the center hole covers the threads for me to put the center screw in. Thats why I'm wondering if anyone knows what the alignment for the holes for the style is vs the old style.
