I went over to the new Foothills Parkway extension this past weekend for a short ride to catch the fall color changes. When I happened to glance at the back of my bike I noticed the license plate at an odd angle. Did a quick inspection to make sure the fasteners were tight and went on my way.
After I got home I set it to see what was going on and found one of the mounting ears on the bracket had split off, I suspect due to vibration. I do have a license plate frame and some chrome bullet shaped fasteners securing the license plate to the bracket. Do the frame and fasteners add to the weight being vibrated and lead to early failure ? Has anyone else had this happen ?
