Default Sorry, another HB query.

I have already replaced the HB's of my '19 SGS with the HD Batwing Reach Handlebar that has a Center Rise of 6.63 inches and a Pullback of 13.09 inches.

For this short rider, with a H-D Reach seat, the height and pullback was OK, but the seat became unbearable for any rides of more than two hours.

Changed the seat to a stock H-D Ultra Limited seat and can now ride all day without discomfort. However, now I find myself leaning foward as now the grips seem to be a little to far away since this seat slides me a little further back than the Reach seat did. Getting some tensing pain in the back of my shoulders.

I like the seat position but would now like to get HB's that are a little taller and have a greater pullback. Searched and searched but can't find any. Plenty of Ape hangers that are higher, but the pullback is much shorter. Buckhorns don't work.

Dose anyone know who makes a stock style Batwing HB that has a little more rise and a greater pullback than by my Reach HB?

Can you not simply adjust your current bars back towards you a little? I had the exact same problem with my stock bars, but after a couple of attempts have been comfortable ever since. Its well worth attempting that first, as it only costs a little time!

It may be something I try. Eventhough I did the original replacement myself, I'm not sure there is much room to roll the HBs back. And, if I do roll them back some, they will go lower and not sure that would be any more comfortable.

Sure wish it was possible to put a set of pull back risers on, like I did on my Cherry, but unfortunately can not do with a Batwing Fairing.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Before you try, turn the bars full left while on the jiffy stand and see how much clearance you have between the bars and tank. I think you'll find there isn't much.

Try Kromewerks 2+2 Narrow Sweeper. Sounds like the dimensions you're looking for.

I have my bars as low as they can go but still clear the tank and find that very comfortable. I never understood how having your arms straight and at shoulder height is comfortable. I prefer elbows bent and hands lower. Like sitting in a comfy chair with arm rests and your hands almost in your lap.

I'd suggest adjusting them down as low as you can and give it a try. Then adjust the grips so that when you fingers are on the levers, your wrists and hands are straight. You might like it and save some money.

Try, as grbrown suggests. Handlebars basically upright will arc back significantly with little decrease in height. It’s a geometry thing. It will change your wrist angle though, and that may be uncomfortable.

Regardless, an adjustment is free if you’ve the tools. That’s a price most of us really like.

The K2+2 and the H-D Reach Bars are almost identical in dimensions, with the Reach Bars having slightly more pullback.

I can't agree more. I'm looking to get a little more bend in the arms while having the ability to sit up staraight. I get fatigued and develope pain in the back of my shoulders when I'm forced to lean foward.

Yep, plan to try. Currently recouperating from some minor knee surgery and can't move the bike around easily to work on it. Hopefully by next week things will be better, and it is the first thing I will try.

Right now I have about an inch and an eighth (1 1/8") clearance between the HB and tank.

Don't know if rotating the bars back the 1 1/8" will make any real difference. It will be a lot of work to take the fairing off to make that small of an ajustment.

Yes, that is the price we like, but kind of thinking if I could find a HB Mfgr that made a stock style HB with more pull back, I would be inclined to spend the $$$$.

I don't know how the Rushmore bikes are, but on the earlier bikes I can get at the bars by pulling only the outer fairing, trim and radio. Really doesn't take long at all.
