Default 01 RK shocks

I ride two up most often and thinking of replacing the stock shocks for a more comfortable ride. I figure with 50,000 miles on the stock shocks I could probably find something else for a better ride. What’s out there that can make a difference?

I am sure others will chime in with the more expensive shocks, while I have no doubt they are quality. I have progressive 944's on my 02. I really like them and they lowered the rear 1 inch.
Now my wife would complain with the stock shocks when I hit a bump, I tried different air pressure, still she complained. Not anymore! She glides right over them now.

They have pretty good reviews, plus the little lowering would be great also. Both my wife and I have issues with our necks, pinching nerves, so I’m trying to reduce shocks to the spines when riding.

I also seen on my research that the Ohlin shocks seem to be another good option. I have to say I got a little sticker shock at the prices for these shocks.

Do you have the standard or heavy duty? The only complaints I have seen on reviews is a bit of a stiff ride which makes me think people are picking the heavy duty when the standard would have been the better choice.
Im looking for a smoother ride so at 230 I think I would pick the standard. My wife is close to 130 and I don’t have a tour pack and don’t load my bags.

Progressive get good reviews for their customer service, so just pick up the phone and ask their advice on the best version for you and Mrs 1,

I replaced mine last spring seeing the wife had broken ribs and limited her being able to ride. I put on Pro Action, and finished off after a few resetting on the valving to almost a carpet ride vs the air shocks. She loved them. There's a few shock manufacturers out there to choose from, from all my readings on here, you just need to make a call on which one. .
