My friend has a 1995 flhtp it had an 88cubic motor on it. We we have a 2011 96ci that we have that came off a 2011 Dyna glide it also has a 6speed transmission which I told wouldn't work on the bike. But my question is this will the motor itself work with his 5speed transmission? Someone took the 88 out and put a 80evo in it now the motor is slap wore out. And he is disabled and has no income or we would just rebuild the 80evo. But we have this 96ci with only 7k miles on it that we would like to put in it. What would I have to to do to make this motor work?
Sell it, spend the money on an Evo that just fits.
BTW, are you saying he had an 88ci Twin Cam engine in an 1995 touring frame? Or was it an 88ci Evo?
The Dyna engine/swingarm assembly, engines mounts etc are all wrong.
I believe it was 88ci twin cam but I asked him he don't know and the guy that did the work just passed away so I can't ask him. What came on a 95 touring frame back then?

EVO, 88s are Twin Cams. Usually the 80s were bored to 89 not 88 but who knows.
That's kind what I thought that the 88 twin cam and the 96 are the same crankcase just different bore and stroke. That's why I figured we could remove the 80 evo that's in it and put the 96 in because there use to be a 88 twin cam in it
It's possible that a 96 with its own 6-speed can be made to fit an Evo frame, but if the two of you had the means of doing that you would be telling us how you did it! For an easy life follow Harley peter's advice and get an engine that will fit. Evos are available up to 124" or bigger if you fancy more performance!
EVO, 88’s are Twin Cams. Usually the 80’s we’re bored to 89” not 88” but who know’s.
S&S had an 88ci kit. 3-5/8", pistons and cylinders. Doubt it was a TC, would have need a custom wiring harness and what about the speedo? (I don't know).
