Hello, I am looking to upgrade the stock 2 bulb halogen headlight. I tried a knock off version of the JW Speaker 8790 adaptive but i didn't like it. I am really considering the HD Daymaker Adaptive. Another consideration is to upgrade the bulbs to either PIAA XTreme White bulbs or Sylvania SilverStar ULTRA or LED bulbs.
Anything but Sylvania Silverstar Ultra, and by extension, any bulb that is significantly blue. Like the PIAA XTreme White bulbs, which are 100% blue.
First, Sylvania calls out its own Silverstar bulbs for causing headlamps to fail minimum legal standards. Unless you want your headlamp to possibly fail minimum legal standards, avoid Silverstar.
Second, the Silverstars are no better than their much cheaper Basic line of bulbs.
Also, a drop-in, plug-and-play LED bulb will be worse than a dedicated LED unit like the Daymakers.

I just installed the Sunpie LED headlight. Wow! For $70 bucks it's a great improvement, seeing and being seen. The only thing that's odd, a minor issue, there is a bright rectangle in the field of view on the road just ahead of the bike.
