Yah I had to drill 3 mounting holes and 1 wiring hole. Just put some touch up paint or primer around the holes and it will be fine. I just think it looks better than the one that comes in the kit.
Just me, but when you take off the tour pack, now the stock seat looks funky large to me, the pillion. I'd change it our for a solo seat or like a Streetglide seat.
I've been actively looking for an Authentic Street/Road Glide seat. While the looks isn't terrible it really does look best with the Street seat. I've found a few on the Bay but I am not yet ready to pull the trigger. Having the Street seat would really give me options on style and looks.
Got these delivered today.
I decided at 6' 2" I ride just tall enough that the stock 10" caused enough buffeting to annoy me. My old VTX had a HUGE screen and was awesome for the that. I decided on the Memphis Shade over HD because the finished look, IMO was better than the 12" from HD. It was also nearly half as much! I aim to keep as much authentic HD parts as possible but sometimes you just have to compromise.
Also installed the extended reach floor boards offered by HD. I think these are going work out well. Haven't had a chance to try them out.
Last but not least, decided after enough reading and advice that the HD Touring Suspension pump is a worth companion to have for the bike. Seems silly but I was sold on it.
Now I just need to find that Street/Road Glide seat.
Took some advice and located a real nice Authentic HD Street Glide seat to finish off the look when the tour pack is off. Might need to re-consider the passenger grab bars but for now it really makes a difference. Seat didn't not come with the strap handle so I'll need to figure that out.
shes coming along nicely! Beautiful bike. best thing I could recommend to do next would be bars. changes everything. I always recommend wild 1 chubbys when it comes to bars. safe travels brother!
I've looked at a few bars and the only ones that suit me, based on description are the Tallboy bars. Unfortunately I can't run the OEM heated grips if I do that. So now I am looking for an alternative that still allows that. Need to put more miles on the ones I've got at this point.
Ive got virtually the same bike. I added ciro frame mounted highway pegs. Sofar thats it. I think that a new windshield is in order this year and maybe the kuriakin vent cover with screen in chrome after a big big hit my cheek on a ride last year. Maybe, Im still debating, Ill get the tour pack relocation kit too. My long *** legs almost always tick the armrest on my way on or off so maybe just an inch back will solve that.
Mine came with highway pegs so I got that covered. Look like *****-G style. Not sure of your height but the 12" Memphis Shade I just added is perfect for me at 6'2". I know that height can very in torso and legs but thought I'd through that out there.
