I have Android Auto in my car and suv. I have yet to figure out what it can do that I can't do just by bluetoothing my phone to the car.

It's essentially a screen remoting technology, so you can use your bike touch screen as if it were a phone not all apps are compatible tho.

The difference is that you’re actually using the phones apps like they are on the phone. Example the Pandora app you have the ability to change stations with out having to pull your phone out. It also gives you access to several different maps. You should plug it into your car’s system and really explore what it can do .
