This is a perfect topic. I just signed up to this forum and have been debating F47 16" vicla bars or Carlini 16" gangster for my 02 fatboy. I have 12 apes now and want to go bigger. I rode a friends 96 fatboy with 1.25 16"apes a few weeks ago and loved it. I'm 5'10" and they were about shoulder level when sitting on it. While riding they end up being a little higher than shoulder level because I end up slouching. Anyway I'm in the same boat leaning towards F47 because I'm nervous the bend in the gangsters will have me reaching to far forward. I like the look of bars that sit vertical not so much inline with the forks. Post a lot of pics when your done.
Good to hear! The curve in the Carlinis is why i chose the F47s as well. If you are going vertical and not in line with the forks you'll have to reach forward either way, unless you have long arms. I want to go as vertical as my windsplitter windshield will allow. I love the look of the bars without the windshield, but i got so used to the shield that i will sacrifice how far forward i'm going to push them. I need to be able put the shield on for road trips.
The dealer was supposed to get the bars in by the end of this week, so hopefully i get a call soon. I'll post pics as soon as i get them on.

Good to hear from someone that already has them. Are they the 16" Viclas?

They were the "Assault" style bars they sell for Street Glides.

Also, the F47's are 1.5 in bars. Thicker bars look better, especially on the RKS.
The bars haven't come in yet. I called the dealer last week, and all they said was they'd let me know as soon as they came in. I'm sure there are delays or backorders. It is Spring. I'm trying to be patient here.
So, it's been a month and a half since i put the order in with HD. I called the service guys a couple of times and left messages. I finally got someone on the phone. He said that I ordered the bars around the time the pandemic started (completely understandable), and maybe factory 47 was shut down and hopefully will be opening soon. I said fine, and i'll wait to hear from you, and hung up. I then called Factory 47 in CA, and someone picked up and said they are open, and they have 15 of the 16" Black Vicla bars in stock, and if i order them today i'll have them in a few days. So, who are the DBags here? I called them back, and told the guy that they are open and i can have the bars by next week so WTF is going on? Also, i know that it's spring, and everyone is getting their bikes ready for riding season, and they must be busy AF. Just give me an effing update, and be honest with me. HD said there was an issue with FedEX, and they sent the bars back because they were closed that day and the guy must have figured that they were closed due to virus. The bars were shipped again, and he said they will be in on Tuesday and he'll call me. It's Wednesday.
Anyway, i'm almost there. Looking forward to the 16s. I did around 100 miles on Sunday, and i'm pretty sore because the stock bars have me leaning forward. I'm 6' with a bad back, and the 16s will have me sitting up with the perfect arm reach and wrist position..
To be continued...

What a mess. I'm waiting until this weekend to see if factory 47 will have a memorial day sale before I order 16 viclas. If they don't have a sale I'm still gonna order just kind of hoping they will drop price a little. Good luck with yours post pics once it's done.
