Quality chrome will last longer than polished. I've dealt with polished aluminum parts.
If polished and coated, they are good for a few years. After that, they have to stripped, polished and clear coated again. From my experience, the polished will be redone 4 times before the chrome needs anything.
You can't go wrong with ***** Shiny . Last year I removed mine and polished them , glad I did , they were looking kinda of beat up . It takes a lot of work to get them to look good , but in the end it was worth it . The only thing is upkeep , gotta keep buffing them with a chrome cleaner to keep them looking like chrome . Next time I take the front wheel off , I'm going to clear coat them .
Chrome has my vote. I replaced them on 14 sgs last year with HD lowers that includes the covers in chrome. Looks fantastic! Dealer was offering a discount deal during the winter months so the pricing wasnt that bad for them.
