Default Nut size

No, not those nuts. The nut that holds the trip re-set button to the inner fairing. Lost the boot and the nut on my last ride. Anybody know what size that nut is ? Thanks.

Pre-rushmore? Mine don't have a nut, just the boot. It has threads molded in.

If you have a dealer local, call them. It's a cheap part, not worth buying online.

Went to dealer today. They show the button/switch and a nut that holds it in, then the boot that covers all of that. 2004 EGUC. The boot is 2 bucks. Button/switch/nut assembly is about 14 bucks. Have to buy the assembly to get the nut. Fine thread whatever it is. Interesting if there IS no nut. Maybe i’ll Cancel the switch order and see what the boot looks like when it comes in. Very seldom use the button anyway.

All I remember is when I bought my 08 the boot was gone and all I bought was the boot and threaded it back on. Same setup when I painted the inner fairing on my 11 this winter.

Edit- looking at the parts fiche, I can't find it for an 04. But for my 2011 it shows up. Part number 67880-94 so it dates back to 94.

Default No Nut Required

Mr Caulk was exactly right. The reset button is held in place by the rubber boot, which has internal threads. It’s mentioned in the manual in the inner fairing disassembly section. The boot is two dollars at the dealer.👍

Snug down your boot, it could be very loose and you would never know it.

But it comes in a bag of 50 because everything is $100 at the dealer.
