Just tried to install the Kappa 62IX 6.5 speakers that the UPS guy delivered...2017 Road Glide Special :
- The screw holes are too narrow to fit the Harley factory screws width, and the frame is too thick for the screws length.
- The "foam" that connects the cone to the frame ofthe sspeaker is wedged under the inside lower tab where the grill clips in.
- hooked one up and it didn't sound any better than the stock speakers.
Now, I know everyone is going to say that they sound way better with an amp. Maybe, but if they can't even sound a little better then stock from just the factory amp, then they're not worth me trying to mod them to fit. So much for all the research I did on all the forums and YouTube. Lesson learned. Just gonna spend the money for a plug and play setup.
I hope this prevents someone else from making the same mistake.... I'm over it. 🤦♂️

i did not have any of those issues when test fitting a set of the kappas to my wife's bike. speakers fit perfectly fine with no modding. 2019 rgs. in stock form, she preferred the boom stage 1 speakers. the kappas were not as loud as the boom speakers.

Boom speakers were louder for me too. I left the stock right speaker in and swapped out the left speaker. The factory speaker was louder but not as clear...
