What's pricing look like at the dealers given the showrooms are closed? I am assuming HD is doing home delivery but what can I expect on a RG or SG special? I can't seem to find anything on the corporate web site. Pardon in me if this was simple but I'm not that computer savvy and went to HD.com and looked around to see what discounts what be applicable but I'm imagining dealers would be happy to have inventory off their floor plan at a good discount.
Harley Davidson would not advertise a discounted price. MSRP is listed and it is up to the dealer to work out a price. If the dealers in Florida are closed, you may be out of luck. However, many dealers do have some sort of internet sales. Try looking for an e-mail address on the dealer site. Here in Michigan, Auto Dealers are moving some cars via internet sales.
I was thinking the same thing, looking at the site there is only mention of financing offers that appear to be no different than they have always run. I see no mention of special programs, pricing or rebates. Just home delivery, great. Yet the auto manufacturers sites are littered with special incentives and deferred payment options. With the plant shut down, I wonder if inventory levels are dropping with what sales they still have and they don't feel the need to drop the prices. Of course that's HD, dealers may have their own deals running. Its funny I was in my local dealer before the state shutdowns, we talked about some bike I was interested in and they took my name but no follow-up calls. I am not chasing someone around to take my money, I'll keep what I have for now.
Everyone is doing home delivery on bike purchases as the H-D site is advertising it. Any other incentives, other than the ones on the H-D site, is up to the dealers. Check the big dealers around you as most likely they are open, like Bruce Rossmeyer. These dealers can sometimes wheel-and-deal better than small ones. Check their sales hours and appts. as many are now limiting how many can be in the stores.
I was able to get $19,400.00 for my 2017 street glide special towards a 2020 Road Glide Limited which listed for $31,234.00. Considering trade in value was around 15K I would say I did pretty well but dealers had plenty of RGL's in the color I wanted and were willing to deal....
I have a home in NJ as well maybe since the lockdown there is tighter I could get a better deal there. I’m really down for a RGS or SGS if I can get for a reasonable discount under MSRP.
Not that it helps in Florida but some of the dealers up this way in NY were offering free upgrades with certain touring purchases. One has a free 131" screaming eagle kit upgrade or pick a package type deals on softails and other models stage one, handlebars, or chrome/blackout options. Not sure how flexible on pricing or trades but I would assume one would be able to get some deals on bikes right now. (Of course if it's like one of the previous posters mentioned where there's only 11 bikes in the entire state I don't think there's going to be much wheeling and dealing on that. )
