However, if they say full retail of the used price, i.e., what the price is in the Black Book , then it is just a sales trick.
But here is when trading at the same dealer for years can be a little in your favor. Just say that you bought your current bike at your local dealer and paid MSRP. OK, they made about a $4000 profit on a Touring bike. Now they want you to trade in on a new one 4 years later. The trade-in figure I would tell them I want is full retail, less about $1000, if they are still quoting full retail on the new bike. The $1000 less is their profit (when they re-sell it) for handling the sale of the bike you traded in.
In the example above, they may not make that deal, but it's a good starting place for negotiations. What I try to avoid is letting them make $4000 on the new bike they're selling me, AND, $4000 on the traded in bike, by giving me a lowball trade-in figure. I don't think they deserve to make $8000 on me.

Don't know about the shops where you are but, Northwest Region of Florida, show rooms are open.
Gainesville, Tallahassee, Panama City, all wide open.
Sales, Service, Parts, all fully staffed.
Had my 20,000 service done in Tallahassee last week. Took 6 hours, (also had tires replaced), they sold 3 bikes while I was there.

I was told Saturday there's only 11 RGS's available in the state of Florida. I was looking for a blk standard Limited. None available.
You're not going to get a deal if they don't have the bikes!
pensacola ..panama city beach & ft walton beach HD are open still....I saw 6 RGS in pensacola last week....
