I bought a backrest through Amazon last week. XMT- MOTO was the manufacturer. It sounded American to me. It was Chinese. OEM was about $750. I paid $250. It wasn't a perfect fit, but 10 minutes with a hand grinder it is now perfectly acceptable.

Rock92, I just bought the same one. Just installed it. Also bought the 4 point docking hardware. It all wen on easily.

I will take the wife for a ride... I’m sure she will hate it. I will take it off and probably never put it on again.

but for the price... it’s nice to have the option lying around.

$45 for the back rest. $45 for the luggage rack. $28 for the docking hardware.

I also bought some highway pegs... but can’t get them to grip the crash bar tight enough for my liking.

I picked up one of the cheap Chinese knock offs an it looked OK but the fit was terrible an the latches didn't line up right. I was gonna cut the mounting tabs off an weld them back on lined up but found a smokin deal on here for a real HD one (thanks layndrag). Some of that stuff is decent stuff for the price, some things are junk. I got a junk one. HD owns the factory in China an controls the materials an quality an they make some good stuff there (I'd prefer it made here) but the knock off companies just ship crap out an sometimes you get a good one an sometimes you get junk.

wondering if anybody had a good luck with eBay stuff, looking for sissy bar for my RKS. Yes, I know I should get H-D parts, but that sissy bar will be used very few times an year and I’m not sure I want to spend $350 on something that will be collecting dust in the garage. However quality/safety of eBay Chinese knockoffs is always a concern. Any input?

thanks guys!
I did the same to get sissy bar parts on Ebay but I highly recommend you do your due diligence before you make any purchase. A number of searches and calls to dealers got me the H-D part numbers I needed and I then searched Ebay for these part numbers. I only bought the parts that were in original H-D packaging. One thing I found out that there is a TON of Chinese crap out there (not all Chinese, I know). Good luck and good hunting.
