2010 Street Glide - Batwing Reduced Reach Handlebars #55800589 ?
I am thinking about adding the BatWing Reduced Reach Handlebars Part # 55800589 to my 2010 Street Glide. I have researched around and want to know if I need to add all new cables when doing this upgrade?. I talked to one dealer and the guy rattled off a bunch of parts and said about 8-9 hours of labor (he didn't seem to sure of himself). I have seen other threads that lead me to believe you don't need all new cables. I looked at the instructions on HD site and it doesn't appear to me that you do. Also, if I don't need new cables is there any issue with running the my cables internally into the bars for a cleaner look. I don't want to spend a fortune. I am 5'8" and just need to take a little strain off the shoulders.
Has anyone made this change and if so do you need all new cables?
Thanks. I did connect with a close buddies friend who works at one of the Stealerships. He said its a more involved doing the install on a Street Glide and unfortunately confirmed for me that even as a DIY I would still need all new cables etc. I decided it wasn't worth it.
