2016 with BOOM 6.5GT. My GPS is way off, thinks i'm miles away from where I actually am and sometimes shows in the middle of corn fields. Is there a way to recalibrate?

I regularly ride on a road that was finished 5 years ago...my GPS shows me riding though a field...I have upgraded the maps to no avail...not sure how long it takes them to catch up...
Yes, this just started as far as I know. I do not use the GPS very often because frankly, it sucks, but this last weekend I actually needed it on a long ride and it was absolutely useless. So cant say if it was doing it last riding season because I dont think I even tried using it. BUT over the winter I had most of the guts out of the fairing for a bar and suspension change. I'm sure I stuck the antenna back on top of the radio, I can check that again but even if the antenna as come loose why would it show so far off?
That's why I like to ask if problems like these just showed up out of the blue. Now, that we know you did some work under the fairing and might have not secured the GPS antenna, it might not be getting a good signal from the satellites and/or the signal is being interfered with by electronics. I would check the antenna and go from there.
My understanding is the unit receives information from several satellites and uses triangulation to alert the unit as to where it is. If your antenna is disconnected or loose then it's possible your getting only one satellite Back in the day TV's could receive a broadcast signal faintly but as soon as the antenna is connected a clearer picture was presented. Check the antenna for connection and better routing.

i don't know about the gt system, but the gts will let you go into a screen that will show you the satellites that you're connected to and the signal strength. the more, and stronger, satellites you are receiving a signal from, the greater the accuracy of the gps.
Well, I may have found the issue with a power wire/fuse on top of the antenna. I moved the antenna back. Now just wait for the rain to stop to see if its fixed. Thanks all for the replies/suggestions.
