Default 2009 Security

I have an '09 FLHRCI. I bought it from the second owner who only had one key and no security fobs. The bike has ABS which I thought was paired with security when the bike was sold new in 2009. The red key lights on the speedo but starts with no problem. I've pulled all the body work and bags looking for a fob, but can't find one, Were Road Kings available with ABS and no Security in 2009?

Take your left side cover off take a pic and post it here I’ll let you know if you have security in 2 secs. I assume you don’t. If the top of the left side cover is empty you don’t

There is an empty spot on the left of the fuse box with two tabs that look like they were meant to hold a module. Thank you, answers my question.

Those tabs are for the add-on siren to connect to. (there should be a wire right underneath if I remember, that is plugged into the plastic housing. That plug connects to the optional siren if it is there.)

To answer your question, Security System Option was $345.00 on the 2009 touring bikes, ABS was $795.00, available separately.
.
(After I posted I saw your picture. Yep, that is what that spot is for.)

Just because the spot is empty doesn't mean it doesn't have security.

Correct.
(The siren was an add-on part, not part of the original security system. Siren was part # 68328-06A)

One way to be sure is to pull the right side cover.
As I recall, behind and to the left of the ABS units is the TSM/TSSM.

See if you can get the part number off of it.

TSM (Turn Signal Module) 68920-07
TSSM (Turn Signal Security Module) 68924-07 (which is actually a HFSM, but that’s another story)

OR … pull the seat, look at the ECM mounted on top of the battery.
If you have a security system there would be an Antenna Module mounted just in front of the ECM.
It is held there by sliding the unit onto the base, you will see where. To remove you need to slide it towards the right side of bike.)

according to that brochure, the road king has actually gone down in price. $17,999 in 2009 is equivalent to $21,510.67 now. msrp on a road king is $19,499.

The brochure is for a Road King Classic, like the OP has.

I believe the base MSRP for a Road King in 2009 was $16,999.
