P0505 - I would have a look at your IAC and make sure your connections to it are good and clean . Get yourself some throttle body cleaner and place a rag inside the throttle body and spray it out really well , they are known to get gummed up . Ignition on will cycle the IAC , you can test it for functionality .
Sorry I should have added , while your at it , clean the butterfly and the throttle seat around it too .
While P0505 kinda indicates an IAC problem and its worth cleaning the IAC, I suspect that the loss to speedo sensor might be whats casing that error as it can effect idle.
I have a 2003 Electra Glide and it stops when it get hot, but only on low rpm. When I pull the clutch and the rpm goes down it stops. Also the instruments go black but it fires normal again and starts running normal for a little while. It doesnt stop when Im driving, but the engine lamp shows sometimes. I have changed the 40amp auto fuse to a normal fuse, but it didnt help. I measure approx 14V on the battery on 1000rpm. Anyone with experience on this problem? Maybe the ET sensor on the engine? Just guessing. Efi system.
Jimmy
when I had these symptoms about 4 weeks ago it was the ET sensor.

I would suspect your Idle Speed Control motor. P0505 is loss of Idle Speed Control. Then in the diagnostic readout, the second picture look at the steps for the ISC. They are at 72. Proper values are between 20 and 50. Did the Harley shop that ran that diagnostic say anything to you about the readings?

Hello.
No they didnt say anything. I will check it out when I come back from holiday. Thank you for feedback.
Just had an 03 FLHRI in the shop yesterday that stalled when coming to a stop only after it got hot, the CKP was failing when it got hot. Tech installed a new one, did a 26 mile test ride and all was well, Something to look into, "heat related" is an important thing to note.

Good point but if it fires right up, it's typically not the crank sensor. If it won't start but does after cool down, it can be the CKP.
