Exhaust Note / Tone
Twice now I've had basically the same bike. Once in 2009 and again in 2020. Both times I had the exact same slip-on mufflers on two exact bikes, in fact they were the same mufflers, the only real difference was that one had a tour pack and the other didn't. The exhaust note sounded really good on the bikes without the tour packs, and it seems like the bike with the tour packs, the tone has taken a what I would call a dud tone. Anyone else ever run into this ? I would think they would sound exactly the same but for some odd reason it's like two different sets of mufflers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So you had the same year bike both in 2009 and now in 2020? What year bike do you have? Or are you saying you had a 2009 and now a 2020? The 2009 would not have had the catalytic converter in the head pipe. You would need to either gut the cat from the head pipe or look at an aftermarket set to get the sound you are looking for. Either option could void your warranty.

Any help with what????????? Have you replicated the exact set up? Did you remove the tour pack, do the bikes have the same exact tune, cats,... Soo much more info needed here
I once had a 2000 trans am in 06 and it ran like crap all the time. I had another trans am in 11 and it ran like a ****. Can you Identify what caused that??

I had a stock 2009 Roadglide and a stock 2009 Ultra classic, same bike except, Different fairings and the ultra had a tour pack, both had the same pipes but different exhaust tone. Now I have a stock 2020 Ultra and a buddy has a stock 2020 Roadglide Special same exact bike except the fairings, and mine of course has a tour pack, again different exhaust tone. The next step is to ride next to my bike and see what it sounds like from a distance. It just seems like when your moving slow say 25-35 MPH in 2nd gear, and I don't know how to explain the tone, but it's a flat sound, like someone has their hand over the end of the muffler, sounds flat ?

You now have an entirely different engine, so it is unlikely to sound the same as one that is 11 years old, either with or without a tourpak. Rather than make trying to make your current bike sound like the old one I suggest you seek out a new sound!
