Default Gauges

I've been busy breaking in the new Street Glide and had a couple questions about the gauges.

What does the "Air" gauge do? If it is supposed to give the temperature it is about 30 degrees off.

Also, what should the oil gauge read out to? When I'm idling it is almost 0. When I'm riding it stays about in the middle at 32.

Thanks,
Barry

I have an 07 Ultra and the temp gauge reads about 10 degrees high and my oil guage reads exactly what yours does.

Yep, 32psi is were the oil pressure gauge should read cruising. The Air temp gauge is just to fill the hole until you buy the oil temp gauge. It is a useless piece of equipment, it messures the ambient temp inside your faring.

The air guage does nothing....other than tell you what outside temperature is. Completely useless and it is seldom accurate. Replace with oil temperature guage instead.

The oil pressure guage is normal and is acceptable. 32 is perfectly normal and at hot idle.....it can be around 5. If it drops to 0 and your oil pressure light comes on......then stop. Until then, all is normal.

What needs to go there is an oil temp gauge.

I moved the air temp sensor lower in the fairing, down toward where the handlebar opening is. It is much closer to being right now. Maybe a few degrees off.

When I want to know whatthe air temperature is, I just stop for a second and see how the skin on my face feels. Kinda like H-D was designing an ultra nice custom bathroom but forgot to design in a toilet paper holder.

Hell it's so hot here the air gauge just keeps spinning! Actually it works like a fan now, I use it to help keep cool.....

The air gauge is fairly accurate until you get outside. In the garage, sitting over nite it is pretty accurate but once you are out it loses its mind. Especially if you park the bike in the sun!!! Makes for a lot of 100* days!!!!

stock air guage tells you the air temp INSIDE your fairing... BS guage.... replace it with an Oil temp guage
