Easily put:

-Type what you want the link to say in your reply window. Example: Harley Davidson
-Open another browser window (or tab if Firefox).Go to the website and the page you want to link and then copy the URL. Right click/copy or ctrl+c
-Go back to your reply window and highlight the Harley Davidson text. Left mouse button/hold and move over text.
-Click the insert link button. Paste the URL into the enter URL window and click ok.

You Harley Davidson words are now a clickable link.

BTW you can also do the same thing with a picture to link a small pic to a larger size one. A little more involved in that though.
For me, that is a great, simple to undestand explaination. Were you that smart before you go the new RG?

Do some of those long links really annoy people. Sounds like a new poll [sm=WTFsgign.gif]

How come mine do not extend the width of the screen but go down to the next line? They will make an HD link on three lines in my veiwing area. Not that I am complaining but how come it works like that for me?

In what situation does that occur? What browser are you using and do you have it expanded full-screen or something? Maybe it has an option to do that, but I've never come across such behavior. It would certainly "break" the "Web" standards if so.

This server software likely has a configuration option to trim long links for presentation purposes but the admins have not enabled it. It'd be my guess at any rate.
