Try moving them out first, worked for me.
Soos sells a kit that comes with everything you need, 1" or 3/4". I did the 3/4" and it helps more then you would think. https://www.hdforums.com/m_1396718/tm.htm
The HD kit only moves the boards about 3/4". You might try looking at another seat that will move you back some too. The two together might be what you are looking for.
You might also consider moveing the boards out some. I moved mine out 1", really helped me get my foot in the middle of the board whenI leave from a stop, and gives worlds more room on them. I made my own at a cost of 15minutes and $0. ( I'm a machinist ) If you have a machinist friend you might ask a favor from him/her.
H/D does have them in the catalog, but like mentioned before you only move them up just a bit and I can't see spending the $$$ if I'm not going to get at least 2" out of the deal !!!
I'm 6'2" so I went for the trifecta and got the HD extended reach floorboards in addition to the 3/4 spacers for width (just like Soos) and Kury Cruise arms. Keep the heel on the board and the toes on the cruise arm, comfy as hell. Some pics are in my photo album.

You got that right. It makes so little difference I can't believe they even sell them. It would be funny, if they didn't cost so much.
