I have a question for the group. I have noticed an odd thing with my cruise control. It will not engage if I try to turn it on at 60-65 MPH. But it will engage at 70-75 MPH. Anyone have an idea on what’s wrong? I’m perplexed.
When you are having issues with your bike, specify which year and model bike you have. Certain problems can be specific to certain years or models and not all bikes are the same.
So I'm not familiar with the 2003 cruise control, but on the newer bikes you can set cruise and then push the + or - button to adjust the speed in 1 MPH increments.
If the 2003 is similar can you set the speed at 70, then decrease it to 60-65? Or set the cruise at 55 then increase it to 60-65?
VA Fish, I took your suggestion. I engaged the cruise at 55, then beeped it up to 60. It stayed engaged just fine. It’s still odd.
Glass Pilot, I am not very good at mechanical things. I don’t have a shop manual. But I also know that the local techs around here can’t or won’t do this either. They keep telling me, I have an old bike. I don’t really consider an 03 to be an old bike.
