Default Kickstand spring

Happy Monday everyone. So on my 2002 FLHT the kickstand spring came loose and of course fell off but I cannot find out where to attach the spring to. It looks like the previous owner had a put through a hole in the frame but when I tried to put it there with a new spring the spring is still loose. I’ve tried to search forHow it’s supposed to be on there and like everything else on the Internet there’s too much information and you can never find what you need.Any suggestions on where to hook the front of the spring to. Thanks in advance

There was a Fix My Hog video made about spring replacement, google it, keep the "Skilled Technician" installs the new spring up side down . Just watch how the old one comes out of the jiffy stand.

I had the same issue. The spring goes into the hole but you have to be certain you have the proper spring. You probably need part number 50112-99.

I believe the jiffy stands and/or springs have changed over the years.

The 2010 Ultra Limited.....jiffy stand easily goes into place. The spring pops it into place in the upright position.

The 1998 Ultra.....even when new, the jiffy stand never popped into place like the 2010.

The only thing that’s looks different between the two....the jiffy stand bracket is different.

Edited:
1998 Ultra.....spring is 50005-85a
1999 Ultra.....spring is 50112-99

Um....something has changed😀
