My 2018 RGS with only 1500 miles on it seems to have the voltage regulator crapping out....15.5-16 volts on my home today (in the red)
Of course, warranty just expired....anyway, HD websites are showing a voltage regulator for 2015 and down??....does anyone have the correct part number for my 2018?
Also, looking on the FB group it looks like this is a common problem....has yours died early too?
Thank you.
Even though it's after the fact, if anyone else is experiencing charging system issues and they are just out of warranty, it's worth a shot having your local dealer (if you're on good terms with them) go to bat with the MoCo for a goodwill repair. I had a guy come in 2 weeks out of warranty with a bad regulator, got on the phone with tech services and they approved the repair, the only ask being a $100 admin fee (which is less than the cost of the part). I know most people are anti-dealer, however you may be surprised what they can do for you in situations like this. I've seen several 2018 regulators crap out, I think they had a bad run of them at some point.

The voltage regulator on my 2018 SGS went out at 400 miles. Replaced under warranty.
