that specific fobo adapter you have has two grommets on it. one has an angle on it and is designed so that it may work on either the 8.3mm or 11.5mm valve stem holes as the CVO wheels use the 8.3mm size. remove the angled grommet from the fobo adapter, place inside the wheel then attach the TPMS sensors as normal. Activate the TPMS in the boom and have the sensors activated should be all you need. Or you could skip the adapter and purchase aftermarket or cvo wheels with the smaller valve stem. The only thing you won't have as a non cvo bike is the light on your gauge cluster unless you swap to a cvo gauge. you will still have the alert and the new screen within the infotainment system. soon as I wear out my tires I'll get pictures step by step of the process. the fobo adapters are about 40 bucks plus the HD TPMS sensors are about 199. Only reason I'm going that route is for simplicity and my FOBO's aren't super accurate and i'd much rather have the alert flashing in my face on the BOOM if it starts dropping pressure.
let me caveat that a little more.....that's for 17 and newer. I think you may need a different BCM for older bikes.
Ahh...the "17 and newer" is probably the difference as I was looking back in 2016 when I bought mine (wow...doesn't seem like that long long ago).
I completely agree that notifying a phone that's probably in my pocket isn't nearly "in your face" enough. This has display that can either be mounted to a handle bar or flat mounted on the dash. Below is what it looks like on my dash. The green bar toggles from top to bottom to indicate front/rear respectively. The bar will turn red, flash, and sound an audible alarm if it goes outside of a programmable range. I also like that It's hardwired to the bike so it comes on with the ignition. I had read reviews somewhere and they indicated this was one of the better ones for motorcycles. And at $60...I think it's a pretty good deal. There are some that you actually have to replace the entire sensor when the battery dies. These use a replaceable watch battery that lasts about a year from my experience. It will complain when the battery gets low. I should probably also mention that I had to buy the "T" valve separately.
I always wondered why more people don't go this route. I can add air without removing the TPMS sensor. My TPMS isn't FOBO, but same principle.

My only issue with bluetooth models is you have to look at your phone. I added the WHIM specifically so I didn't have to look at my phone. My bike is a '14 so its not built in to my Boom system, and I have no plans to upgrade to the GTS.

Yes, I had the stems installed with a tire change. I did have them specifically write in the work order to have the sensors on when they did the balance. I can't imagine they would do the balance then replace the stem. But even if they forgot to put the sensors on before the balance, I read somewhere that the sensor weighs less than 10 grams so I doubt it makes much difference.
And I forgot where I ordered the "T" stems from, but someone else provided a link.
The one item I would mention for any of the valve stem mounted sensors...make sure they are fully seated onto the stem. They have a nub inside that has to open the valve in order to read the pressure. When the shop put them on, they just put them on until they felt tight and called it good. I don't recall the exact amount, but the instructions say you have to tighten it another half turn or something like that to get the nub to open the valve. If it doesn't open the valve...then it's not really getting the tire pressure.
I assumed that the lock nuts that came with mine were more of an anti-theft device than they were to keep the sending unit from flying off of the valve stem.
This is correct. Frankly, I've been running FOBO without the lock nuts for years and no problem. It is for anti-theft. You don't otherwise need it and IMO it is more trouble than it's worth. I have had zero trouble with the FOBO system and it's great to have.

Somehow I missed this picture before. I love that style. Looking at the link, did you cut a hole to mount the display? The display in the link looks too deep for a surface mount.
I tried about 5 times to see how much shipping on those stems would be, but even after making an account, it kept looping me out, and emptying the shopping cart. I'm done. Not interested.
Found the same thing on wingstuff.con, a goldwing site, but same item. Not cheap either. Will get the tpms, but hold off on the stems. Will not be changing them until new tires anyway.

I'm pretty sure wingstuff is exactly where i purchased my stems from when i ordered them. That link was just a quick search from the office to provide exactly what we were discussing. For a pair of them and shipping, I believe it was right at 40 bucks.
