Default Issue with starting

I have restored this 01 Electra Glide from ground up.
"new" used wiring harnesses, all new bearings, brakes, even have gone through the motor.
New battery, and everything I could think of.
Upon starting, it worked and sounded great!
For about a week it was looking like the "first ride" was in sight.....then problems began.
At first, it started not wanting to "talk" to the TSSM, just "clicked" the starter relay, then all the sudden it would start then idle at 1700 RPMS . When I idled it down manually, it would want to "die out." Now it only "clicks" the relay, and also the power relay on the ECM. But the oil pressure light will not come on when key is turned on. A test of that circuit shows one side "grounding", and the other not. I wouldn't think it should "ground " on that type of circuit.
To explain further, this bike was bought, by me, off a rack where it had been for over a year. No telling how long before that in this person's barn or garage. He had an oil system on it that looked like something from Frankenstein's laboratory, and the wiring harness had been cut into. So I replaced it all. As i had the original oil pressure sending unit, i rewired it back into the system. It is the first thing that quit working ( maybe for a reason), so i suspect it is "telling " the ECM not to work. And as it is grounding, it's making the power relay on the ECM trip.
Am I on the wrong track?

Delphi or Morelli system. Have you tried pulling fault codes?

Default On issue

Delphi system, 12 pin.
no one has ever seen able to tell me if it requires a FOB.
But since it started the first few time without one, I'm assuming it doesn't.

As far as codes, all I see on the speedometer is do(01-10)clr. If that helps.

2001 were Marelli, so if it is truly a Delphi, then someone converted it.

Delphi systems are not intended to have the idle set manually as you indicate you have done.

The oil pressure switch does not cut off the ECM.

How do you know it didn't talk to the TSSM - what was the code?

Starter relay won't even click if the TSM is not talking to the ECM.

The oil pressure sending unit has no communication with anything other that the oil light bulb and gauge.
your problem is elsewhere.

The oil pressure sending unit is directly tied to the ECM on this one.
As I said before, i have no idea what was done to the bike before i got it. I've just been trying to "unscrew " it.
But, it seems most of my issues started when the sending unit quit sending its signal to the ECM.
I don't profess to be any kind of "computer expert."
I used to do bikes that didn't have the #$$* things on them.
I have the shop manual for this bike, and it shows a direct connection to the ECM.
Its driving me crazy, and that's a very short trip for me.

No, it is not.

The oil pressure switch does nothing but close a path to ground when pressure is below a certain point, the signal does not go to the ECM.

The ground wire passes through part of the ignition harness on it`s way to the oil pressure switch, but it does not go to the ECM.

The ground path is from the switch (which establishes ground when no oil pressure is present) at connector 140, through part of ignition harness (Green/Yellow wire) to connector 8 A/B, into main harness, connector 21 A/B to the bulb socket.

If the starter relay is clicking, your issue is not with the TSSM.

If the TSSM were the problem, the start relay would not get ground, so it would do nothing.

You need to study the wiring diagram....

Ok, I was just asking.
But, it seems to me, that most of my problem, not all, mind you, came around when the oil sender stopped working.
Not to say that was the only issue.
#$&$, I hate computers.
The starter relay clicks, so I'll recheck my grounds again.
