Default Street Glide spring preload

So I just switched from Heritage to a 2019 Street Glide standard. I must be getting old, but the chart for setting rear preload makes no sense to me. Can anyone tell me how many turns to give it for a 180 pound rider with stock shocks, no tourpak, and no passenger? Much appreciated!

Ooops, nevermind. it suddenly made sense. I just didn't believe that 180lbs requires 0 preload.

Yeah, I'm really noticing the difference between the SG and the Heritage with balloon tires!

I weigh 195 and based on the chart for my 2015 StreetGlide I should be set at 0 as well. Just for the heck of it one day I set them on 3 to see what the difference was. That was a couple years ago and I haven't changed it since. I don't know why but 3 is smoother than 0.

I haven't pulled the bags to check but are the 2 rear shocks connected? If you adjust the preload(left side) does it adjust the right shock also?
Guess my lazy a$$ could go look too!

Thanks for all the answers. I'll try 3 just for the heck of it, but do you mean 3 clicks or 3 full turns?

As for the shocks being connected, sometimes suspensions are set up so that one side does compression and one does rebound. But in the this case we're talking spring preload, so I'm guessing yeah, you might be right about them being connected.

In my case I did 3 full turns which was 6 clicks. I've had my shocks off several times and there is nothing connecting them.
