Agree with all the comments here. I went from 2012 Ultra Limited to a 2020 RGL. Beyond all of the extras that come with these new bikes, the ride is what I'm really sold on. The RG handles so much better. All this thing wants to do is lean into turns. It is so well balanced; even with a passenger. And yes, the bars need to go...
The differences between the special and standard are:
Gloss black inner fairing instead of Matte Black
Blacked out engine/frame instead of chrome
114 engine instead of 107
Different colors
It's up to you to decide if the differences are worth the extra cost.
I personally thought it was worth it when I got my 2020 RGS with RDRS
and
stretched saddlebags
different wheels
maybe more, but that's all i can think of at the moment. and, yes, it is worth it, imo.
Bought the red and black special.

Looks like I'm trading my problematic FLHXSE3 in on a new RGL in Midnight Blue. The features of the new bike will be welcome! I basically made the SG into an Ultra......this is way more cost efficient! They gave me $21,000 for the '12
